Personal Safety Tips

The best way to take care of your security is to avoid potentially dangerous situations. Criminals are generally not put much thought in an assault or other crimes. Almost never violence is their "perosn specific." They are looing for an "easy mark", vulnerability, a person who is unaware of their surroundsings. In preparation with a thought and a plan of action can you and your family off the target.

Being aware of your surroundings at all times is the best way to protect your perosnal security. No matter if you're in your car, or on the street or at home always be vigilant of your surroundings.

You should always have a plan. Playing the "if" game, as you would go where and what you would do if a dangerous situation occur.

Always trust your instincts. In most cases, a large percentage of people who have been assaulted had a feeling something was wrong just before they were attacked.

If you're walking, running or jogging alone, NEVER wear headphones radios or other devices that make it difficult for you to hear one way or attacker. Be vigilant at all times.

If someone attempts to attack you, shouting "Fire" instead of "rape" or "Help", more people will respond to "Fire" that nothing else.
Also, be sure and let everyone know around you, you do not know the assaliant not to confuse the match for a domestic quarrel.

If you travel always keep your vehicle in good condition. Consider having a celluar phone or CB radio in your car. If you are planning a trip at night or long-distance travel, make sure you leave a program of your trip with friends or family to let them know where you are staying with a telephone number where you can be reached.

Never forget the weather and driving conditions when you plan a trip and get acquainted with the travel itinerary before you begin.

Have a first aid kit, flashlight and working jumper cables in the car at any time. These May enter into practice.

At home, you must also be careful and aware of your environment. You want to make sure that your home is a safe place to live and secure when you're not at home.

With the approach of your house, if you think something is wrong, leave the area at once.
Always keep the outside of your home well lit and always lock the doors above your garage, an intruder can easily drive to get inside.

When planning a trip, always stop delivering your mail and newspapers. Buy a little time or light-sensitive light catches the will of your home at night when your absence.
