Autistic Child Care
An autistic child can be identified very early. Parents are usually the first to notice unusual behaviors in their child. Normally a child of 12 months is expected to babble, say a few words, pick up gestures like pointing and share emotions like smiling with parents. In some cases, the baby seemed different from birth, unresponsive to people or focusing keenly on one item for long periods of time. The first signs of an autistic spectrum disorder can also appear in children who seem to have been developing normally. When an engaging, babbling toddler suddenly becomes silent, withdrawn, self-abusive, or indifferent to social overtures, something is wrong. Autistic child care is best done if the condition is diagnosed before the age of three. The best approach towards it is to count the child's strengths rather than the weaknesses.
People use different terms to describe individuals within the autistic spectrum, such as autistic tendencies, high or low-functioning autism, or autism spectrum. Whatever the term, an autistic child can learn and function productively given the appropriate educational plan. Visual and not verbal clue should be focused in building an exhaustive module, to reach out to individuals falling in the spectrum of autism. We need to break routine way of teaching to encourage flexibility and stress on unambiguous communication. We must teach the autistic child life skills in a way that they can easily recall or relate to.
Visual augmentation helps a child communicate better. Autistic child suffers from social deficits like speech impairment, problem in understanding others' perception and context and normally communicate in a way that is not understood by others. We have to teach them to communicate in socially identifiable way. Structure makes tasks predictable, reduces anxiety in the child. One can develop a concept using visual gestures. This helps the child which is struggling to recall the sequence. An autistic child's behavior is often mistaken as unruly. But it is only when the child is unable to communicate, it responds aggressively. So, we need to equip the child with better tools to communicate. Structured teaching can be beneficial to help the child pick up life skills.
Awareness has to be created to enable families to carry out autistic child care in a better manner. They need to have access to better medical management of the related disorders like aggression, hyperactivity and irritability. Parents need to learn to communicate and give out unambiguous instruction to their wards. There should be support for employment and opportunity for autistic individuals in the society.

Child Support Lookup -- Looking Out for Your Child's Best Interests
Aside from legal separations, child support lookup also applies to those children with unwed parents, who are of course also required to extend assistance for the growth and well-being of their child. Child support requires that financial assistance for the child is automatically deducted from monthly paychecks of one of the parents (usually the one with whom the child is not staying with). In the instance that child support is withheld for one reason or the other, there are measures that can be undertaken, undertaken such as seizing one’s property to ensure compliance.
Child support lookup refers to the process of obtaining the records regarding child support cases. Although this is often preceded by the unfortunate separation or divorce of the parents, it is necessary in ensuring that the parties involved comply with the statutes of the law concerning this issue. Looking up child support cases ensures that the child is able to receive monetary support that guarantees that he or she grows up with a good education and a comfortable standard of living. The process is also important so that the care and upbringing of the child is not compromised simply because of the separation of the parents.

Researching Child Support Cases
Child support lookup can be conducted by anyone willing to know about child support cases similar to their own. Of course, it can also be conducted for research purposes by people studying to get into or are already into family court cases.
Although there are guidelines that the family court imposes on the amount of child support that is required, any child support lookup will reveal that there are still differences in the amounts since these are still reliant on other factors such as the income of the parents and the special needs of the children, if any. If you are planning to file a case dispute, gather all required information beforehand so that you can lay down all the facts and determine an appropriate course of action.
If you already have a pending case, you can sometimes lookup the status of your child support case online. Online child support lookup records also help you in determining the average amount that children receive in a state so that you can decide if the amount you are requesting for, receiving or contesting is justifiable.
There are still some restrictions regarding online child support lookup services in some states because this information, particularly financial data, is considered highly confidential. You will need to supply these online records providers with your name and a case number before the files are released to you.

How Do Your Kids Know How To Exit If There's A Fire
This exact scenario is the reason why that teaching your children what to do in the event of fire in the home or anywhere else for that matter. They need to know the fastest and safest way to make their escape when an adult can not help them. If they are on their own, their very life might depend on what you have taught them about escaping a fire beforehand.
When a child awakes and realizes their home is on fire, they need to know how to escape out their own bedroom window if necessary. They should have a collapsible escape ladder in their room and know how to attach it to the window sill in order to climb don safely if necessary. This one feature can be enough to save their life if they have it and know how to use it. Children are usually more level headed than we give them credit for and often they will respond to a crisis situation better than an adult faced with the same situation.
If they can not get out of their bedroom door, they should know to never open it if feels hot because the fire could be just outside. If the door is not hot, they can crack it enough to yell for help or to let you know they are alright. They should wait for you if possible, but if they can see a clear exit path, they should go ahead and get themselves out as quickly and carefully as they can. They also need to know that once they have gotten out of the house to never go back inside for anything, not even you or a pet.
They should go immediately to a neighbor and call 911 if they are not already on the way. They need to know to stay well away from the house and stay in a designated spot where family members are to meet in the vent of a home fire such as across the street or under a tree. This way when all family members have gotten out, parents will know there is no one left inside.

Now, tonight, and everyday, tell your spouse you love them!
It is so easy to forget simple things like expressing love and appreciation for your spouse. We readily fall into routines in life and these expressions are often left out of those routines usually because they are akward and sometimes uncomfortable. It is particularly hard for men to express these feelings, especially when provoked. By provoked I mean when a wife says "I love you" to her husband, the husband feels mandated to say I love you back which can be difficult because it feels forced and no man likes to be forced into anything. Even though the husband feels love, he feels reluctant to express it because it is not his expression, but now a reply to her expression. Even more difficult is if the wife is having a bad day and needs to be told she is loved and appreciated. The worst thing she can do is say to her husband, "I just need to know you love me".
Having said all that, the title of this article states, tell them everyday. Both husbands and wives need to feel comfortable expressing love and appreciation but it needs to be unscripted. Express your love in random ways without any expectation of a comparable reply. In fact, let them know you expect no reply, by saying it in passing or some other way so they feel little obligation to reply immediately. It will stay with them and they will get back to you when the opportunity is right.
By doing it this way, your spouse knows you love them, but also does not feel they are being manipulated. The expression of love will be more significant and remain with your spouse longer as they remember this expression without expectation and as they think about how they will return they favor.
So the next step it to make ample opportunities later for them to return the favor. To do this, spouses logically need to be around each other. Make it a point to spend more time doing something together. Have fun, never be critical, and if all else fails, look deep into their eyes longingly. Also remember to be patient, for every person is different. Some people find it easy to express their feelings, and for others it is a near impossibility. Just remember that as you express your love in a non controlling way, and give your spouse ample opportunity to express their lovePsychology Articles, you will grow closer together and both of you will be happier together.

How to pick the right File Cabinet
The most popular types of file cabinets are metal and wood; wood is by far the more attractive of the two. Wood file cabinets are very durable and attractive and can be a great addition to your office or your home.
Common styles of solid wood file cabinets include Traditional, Mission and Contemporary, with many sizes available including:
* Letter sized file cabinets, which are typically designed to hold only 8.5” x 11” paper, but can also used for 8.5” x 11” legal size files as well;
* Legal size file cabinets, which can usually hold both 8.5” x 14” and 8.5” x 11” paper;
* Lateral file cabinets, which will have either 2 or 3 drawers and generally hold 8.5 x 11” and 8.5” x 14” paper;
* Personal file cabinets, which tend to be smaller and hold only 8.5 x 11” letter files.
By moving the metal brackets inside, letter and legal file cabinets can be used interchangeably (in most cases).
A file cabinet may have anywhere between two and five drawers. Consider how much storage you need when you are looking at file cabinets and trying to decide on the number of drawers you will need. Remember that there are a plethora of possible uses for a file cabinet, including as an end table with built in storage, a nightstand, coffee table and more – all offering the additional utility of storage.
You can use even a 2 drawer cabinet to place items above desk height by positioning it on your desk, which gives you a 30" platform. You can also create a large work surface by lining up several file cabinets in a row. You can achieve the same effect by using a lateral file cabinet – which eliminates the seams created by lining up several vertical files cabinets.
A 3-drawer file cabinet offers another solution for both storage as well as a surface to put plants, statuettes or other lighter items. These stand about three and a half feet high.4 drawer file cabinets, at a height of about 55" provide even more storage, or you can opt for 5-drawer file cabinets for a very large amount of storage; but only very light items should be placed on top of such a high cabinet.
SAFETY FIRST!
Remember that any piece of furniture can be dangerous if it is carrying a lot of weight. Tipping can be a hazard, especially with heavily loaded drawers. There are some steps you can take to minimize this risk.
* Fill the bottom drawers first and work your way up.
* Never open more than one drawer at a time.
* Attach your file cabinets to the wall – this can prevent them from tipping.
* Always place the heaviest items in the bottom drawer; this will act as a sort of anchor to prevent the cabinet from tipping over.
* Unless you r file cabinet is securely anchored by being bolted to the walls, never put anything on top of your file cabinet (and even if you have done soFree Articles, this is not recommended) that children or pets will be likely to climb up on top to get to – this can have tragic results.

Copyright (c) 2008 AIM Fundraising
Every year I talk with people who have had their school fundraising program literally dropped in their lap. Many times these people have taken on the job because there was no one else to step up. In every case, their main concern is that they want to do a better job with next year's school fundraising than was done this year. Imagine the pressure of picking a product or running the sale in such a way that the school actually makes less than they did last year. Now that is what I call pressure!
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
With all the things to consider in planning your next school fundraising event, don't feel like you have to come up with all the answers yourself. Check out one of these links to find some great ideas that will help make your next school fundraising program the best that it can be.To make your life a bit easier here is a simple guide to ensuring that your school fundraising events achieve their goals and operate smoothly. Namely, that they are both profitable and trouble free.
1. Setting a Goal
The very first thing that you must do is determine how much money you need to raise. Take into account all expenses that you expect to incur. However, determining how much you need to raise can be quite a job. It also helps your cause to have specific instead of "general" goals.
Running a school fundraising campaign with the intended goal to "raise as much as we can" is very hard to communicate to parents of your students and will likely not get a lot of support. If you find that you really don't have anything pressing that you need to raise money for, it is better to give the parents a break and simply choose to not do a fundraiser.
2. Determine Your Timeline.
When conducting a fundraiser you must set a timeline. It is wise to consult a professional fundraiser if you are planning to do any type of product sale. They can help you determine a timeline that will allow you plenty of time to conduct your fundraising activities. They can even help you plan events around your calendar so that the Fall Carnival won't interfere with your product sale, and your product sale won't interrupt your Book Day's and so forth.
3. What is Your Target Audience?
Determine who you will be targeting in your fundraising. Ask yourself is you want to make your school fundraiser a product sale or a family type of event fundraiser like an auction or carnival. Or, do you need to try to raise more money by doing a product sale like cookie dough or Christmas wrap. Each one of these type fundraisers have it's own application in different schools. There are some schools that do a spaghetti dinner and make ten's of thousands on them, while others will barely break even.
4. Incentives.
I have found that the prizes that are given in a particular school fundraising program has more to do with it's success than any other single factor. A school could almost sell five dollar bills for ten dollars and do very well if you motivate the students and parents correctly.
One misconception about prize incentives is that many believe that the bigger the prize the better the sale. If one of the prizes for the top seller is an item that is the latest craze that year, then you will have a better sale. Do not fall into that trap.
The power of school fundraising is in the size of the group, not in who sells $1,000 worth of "stuff." Think about it, would you rather have 2 students sell over $1,000 and 25% participation in your sale? Or would you make much more profit if you had 40% participation and no one sells more than $80.00?
When you think about it, the prize that gets the most kids to sell $80 is much more important than the big prize that gets 2 kids to sell $1,000! And what is really sad about that is most professional fundraiser don't get that let alone the average PTA Fundraising Chairperson!
5. Promotion
How will you promote your fundraiser? One of the best ways to promote your fundraising campaign is by throwing out lots of reminders. When it is time for the school fundraiser, be sure to send a letter or an e-mail to parents long before the sale starts. Send another informational letter home with your sales brochure. Parents can be busy people and sometimes things slip their mind.
Though this guide is geared toward school or groups in the education system these are the basic steps involved in any form of fundraising. Use these steps to plan your events. If you spend some time in planning and making sure that you are sticking to the planArticle Search, you'll find that your school fundraiser will go as planned.
How to Ceramic Tile a Floor
A new ceramic tiled floor can really improve the look of your home. Ceramic tiles are very practicle, hard wearing and attractive. Following the information below will help you acheive a quality ceramic tile floor in no time at all.
Step #1: Prepare the Floor
Depending on whether the floor you are tiling was previously tiled or carpeted, it will first need to be prepared for tiles to be laid. If there was carpet on the floor it will need to be removed along with any backing or glue. In addition, the surface will need to be made perfectly smooth and preferably dust-free. Keep in mind that the wood floor on which the tiles will lay needs to be as flat as possible. Otherwise, the tiles will not lay straight and water may puddle, which is unsightly and can be dangerous.
It is possible for ceramic tiles to be laid on top of other tiles, but only where the lower layer is in good condition with no cracks. Otherwise, the lower layer of tile will affect the new layer. This is why it is not recommended.
Any fasteners need to be flush with the floor and there should be no lumps, bumps or nails to compromise the integrity of the tiles. The preparation of the floor and the material used to prepare the surface for the tiles to be laid depends on the current condition of the floor. Therefore, you should research your options carefully, perhaps taking advice from the DIY shop.
Step #2: Prep Doors and Other Obstacles
Inevitably, you will have a few obstacles in your way when tiling a floor. Where a door opens into the room, whether it be a walkway door or a floor-level cupboard, you will need to trim the door bottom in order to make sure it can open smoothly and without hitting on your new tiles once they are installed.
Step #3: Get Your Trowel and Mix the Thinset
Follow the manufacturer's instructions for mixing the thinset. Just keep in mind that you should only mix as much thinset as you can use in two hours. You will also need to make sure the notch size of the trowel is the same depth as the tiles, as this gives good adhesion and also allows any air to escape after the tile is laid.
Step #4: Find the Center
You need to begin tiling from the center of the room. In order to find the centre, locate the midpoint of each wall and snap chalk lines. If this tile line bisects a unit, such as the bath or a vanity, then make sure the tile has at least 2 inches width. Otherwise, it may snap when cutting or laying and it will have a generally untidy appearance. Move the centre tile where necessary to obtain this fit. It is important, of course, to work all this out before the application of adhesive!
Step #5: Lay the Tiles
When laying your tiles, be sure to press them down ith a slight twist of the wrist. You should also use spacers in order to give a good, tidy, even fit. It is important to avoid 'lippage', where the edge of one tile is higher than the one next to it. Even pressure when laying the tiles helps with this.
You can use either a wet saw or a tile cutter to trim the tiles to size and lay them around the edges. Smaller cuts, such as those needed for going around pipework, can be made with hand cutters and a file.
Step #6: Finishing It Off
The tiles can set overnight, then scrape any residue of thinset from the tile surface or joints. Apply grout from the center of the room to the outside, pushing it in first in line with the joint, then diagonal to them. After grouting, let the tiles dry for at least 30 minutes and don't be too aggressive in wiping up the mess. Otherwise, it might pull out of the joints.
If you'd like to attempt this job yourself rather than hiring someone to do it for youBusiness Management Articles, you may feel more confident after taking a course in tiling - and you will also learn more advanced techniques that can help you do an even more exciting design.

Different Ways of Home Interior Decorating
It is also possible to give small room an airier and wider feel. The best idea to visually enlarge your room is to use light and bright colors. Cool colors as green and blue tend to recede from the eye and therefore give a larger feel to a room. This effect can be enhanced by painting the trims, borders and moldings in a lighter color than the walls. This will make the walls appear further away and thus the room appears bigger. When choosing the colors, keep contrast levels down. Use colors that are in the same color family rather than contrasting colors. This will make the place cozier and less chaotic.
Another idea for creating visual effects by using color is to paint a single wall in a rich color and keep the other walls light. Because the stronger colors attract all the attention, the other walls seem to fall away. Besides this, the ceiling should always be painted in stark white, no matter the color of the walls. The white ceiling will maximize brightness in the room.
Decorating home interior can be rather simple and easy. Furniture for small rooms should be very carefully selected. There are many pieces of furniture that can be used for different functions. Try to find double-duty furniture. Chests can be used for storage as well as a coffee table or television stand. In small guest rooms you could use sofa beds that are easily convertible; some even convert into bunk beds.
In small rooms the furniture should always be slim and simple. Another idea would be to use only a few pieces of larger scale furniture, to reduce the clutter of many smaller ones. In a small space everything easily turns into a focal point. Keep the items simple. Arrange the furniture at an angle to lead the eye diagonally across the room and visually enlarge it.
With the use of light, the appearance of a room can be altered and achieve the desired home interior decorating. Mirrors reflect natural as well as artificial light. When the light is reflected deep into the room, it will appear larger. Spotlights pointing toward the ceiling will make the room look higher. And track lights aimed at the walls visually expand the space. Track lighting is also good to free up some floor space.
The more you see of the floor, the larger the space looks. Throw out the coffee table and use smaller side tables instead. If you can’t live without your coffee table, use a table with a glass top to make the floor visible through it. A mirror on top of your table top will work too.
Another tip to get more living space in your room is to throw out what you don’t need. Remove interior doors. And get rid of all the things that you do not need. A good idea is to see if you have used the item in the last year or not. If you haven’t used it or even looked at it, you are probably never going to use it and you won’t miss it; old clothes and shoes, kitchen appliances, magazines, silly holiday souvenirs, and more.
Important when you are living in a small space is the dirt and clutter. Try to avoid any disorder in the room by using the less is more philosophy. Use a single piece of artwork or a large print rather than a small collection of things. Clean up any jumble in the room. Create smooth and clean surfaces. And clean the windows often to make the room brighter and larger.

Why men cheat: Discover the reasons and affair-proof your relationship
There are many reasons why you might be unfaithful. The obvious is that you are unhappy and feel that your needs cannot be met by your partner. In the many years I've worked with couples, I have observed that gender-sensitive issues can be part of the affair puzzle.
If you become aware of these influences, you'll be in a better position to affair-proof your relationship.
Note: There are many reasons why someone might justify an affair (to themselves and their partner). The explanations that follow are meant to help you build a stronger union with your partner, not act as justification for a decision to be unfaithful. If you learn to become aware of your patterns or tendencies, you can offset any dangers that might exist and shape your behavior so that it benefits your marriage or relationship.
5 reasons why men cheat
1. Are you an escape artist?
The escape artist has trouble with feelings. If you fit this profile, you feel emotionally shut-down--you're not very good at expressing your feelings and desires. At times you might not even be attuned to your desires. It can feel like you go through life in an emotional straitjacket, stilted and never feeling fully alive or present. The escape artist needs to flee his own self-imposed prison of non-feeling.
You want to feel emotions more deeply, yet the inability to do so within your relationship leaves you vulnerable to having an affair. You might experience the energy and danger associated with an affair as a way to break through the emotional numbness you feel in your relationship. However, that energy is short-lived and destructive to both you and your partner.
2. Are you trying to recapture your past?
Maturity definitely has its benefits. You feel more settled and in control of your life, and your relationships are more stable and meaningful. But leaving the self-centered world of childhood and the invincibility of adolescence can also feel like you've lost an important part of yourself--the part of you that is full of dreams and aspirations. Under these conditions, a committed relationship can feel like a prison that holds you back. Do you reflect on your life and think, "Is this all life has in store for me?" It can feel like you're in an emotional crisis.
The excitement of an affair can mistakenly feel like the only opportunity to recapture the vitality of your youth. Rather than discover the real cause for your emotional crisis, you seek out the infatuation of a new relationship. Once this infatuation dwindles (which it will), you will again be face-to-face with the need to find the real cause of your despair.
3. Are you an avoider?
You feel uncomfortable with emotional closeness and with demands for greater intimacy. To help you deal with these feelings, you find yourself trying to avoid your partner (and intimacy). You might rely on the more benign forms of avoiding intimacy, such as keeping yourself busy with household projects or staying late at work. At the extreme end of the avoiding continuum, you might become involved in extramarital affair--erroneously believing that you've discovered a way to be in a relationship that does not place emotional demands on you.
If an affair continues for any length of time, you will begin to feel trapped by requests for deeper emotional closeness and the cycle of having to escape intimacy will start all over again.
4. Are you more likely to act-out buried feelings?
Unresolved emotional issues (whether from your childhood or your relationship) have a way of coming to the surface. Ideally, you will discover healthy ways to express these feelings. But when marital or relationship problems mount and remain unresolved, resentments can shatter intimacy. As the emotional distance continues to grow in your relationship, you will feel a deep sense of loneliness.
Many men report great discomfort dealing with these powerful, negative feelings that can surface in any relationship. Feelings of isolation and beliefs that you and your partner are no longer compatible can lead you to seek solace outside the relationship, therefore making you affair-prone.
5. Do you need to be a hero?
Men are often raised to be heroes. That might sound like a good thing on paper, but in reality it can prove problematic. Heroes don't feel, they act. Think about the male role models in your life. Did you view your father as brave and impervious to pain? Or was he someone who could be vulnerable and seek comfort from others when he needed it? Young boys are inundated with messages about the virtues of being brave and stoic. The hero sacrifices without complaining.
The demands of intimacy can be very confusing to the hero. Rather than feeling celebrated for your ability to get difficult, necessary jobs done, you may find yourself criticized and misunderstood by a partner who wants you to be more emotionally available and communicative. Feeling inept and unappreciated within the realm of intimacy, you might consider an affair as a way to get the attention and appreciation you feel you deserve.
If you see yourself (or your husband or partner) in any of these profiles, take the steps necessary to begin communicating more openly about the struggles your relationship faces. Information is your ally in working toward an affair-proof relationship.

Signs Of A Cheating Wife - Is She Or Isn't She?
Another obvious sign of a cheating wife is when she becomes secretive. If she starts to go someplace private for phone conversations or spends a lot of time on the internet, but you notice the browsing history has been deleted, that is definitely suspicious. Now, she might be planning a surprise for you (if the secrecy occurs around the time of your birthday or some other special occasion, I suggest you relax for the time being). Her online secrecy might also be due to indulging some fantasy in cyberspace that will never be part of her real-world life, but it does indicate that she's looking for something that is lacking from your relationship, and this is a signal that some work could be done to improve things.
Changes in sexual behavior can also be signs of a cheating wife. Decreased desire for sex could be due to any number of factors, including stress or fatigue, but if your wife suddenly starts avoiding having sex, it is a cause for concern. Some women who are cheating will actually seek out sex with their spouses more often. This might be out of guilt or as a deliberate ploy to keep the husband from suspecting her extracurricular activities. Increased sex drive can also result from other things like hormonal changes, so it is best not to take that in itself as a sign of infidelity.
Besides the amount of sexual interest, there may be changes in how she behaves during sexual intimacy. She might kiss differently or perhaps want to engage in sexual acts or sexual positions that she has never done before. While this may simply be due to an idea she got from a magazine article or friend, a new interest in a sexual position or act could be a sign that a new partner has given her new ideas.
Finally, a common sign of a cheating wife is when she is spending most of her free time with someone other than you. In some cases, this maybe with a female friend, so it may not seem suspicious at first. If your wife is cheating on you, the female friend may be acting as her alibi so your wife can easily slip out to be with her lover, but there is also the possibility that the friend IS the lover. It is not unusual for a man to see the signs of a cheating wife and then dismiss them because he's been able to determine that the wife is spending her time with a female friend, never suspecting that his wife is cheating on him with a woman and not a man.
If you do suspect that your wife is cheating on you, it is important to try to keep your cool and carefully go through the necessary steps to find out for sure what is happening and then decide what you really want to happen. The anger and hurt feelings can lead you to do things in haste that you might regret later. So before you do anything rash, I recommend that you first carefully gather evidence.
There are several ways to do this, and there are quite a number of online resources to help you do it yourself. The thing you have to realize is that you are emotionally involved in this, and chances are you are not as skilled as a professional investigator, so if you are going to collect your own evidence, you need a system that is simple to implement and allows you to get the evidence you need without risking getting caught investigating her. After all, if it turns out that she is not cheating, and she finds out that you were investigating her, that could sour the relationship just as easily as if she were having an affair - only in this case, you are the "bad guy" - the jealous, insecure, "nut-job" - and you will be the one your mutual friends turn against. So, choose carefully how you are going to go about things.
Only once you are absolutely sure that she is cheating should you confront her. If you do catch her cheating, you also need to decide what you want to do - try to work out your relationship or end it. Above all, you need to keep your anger under control - getting violent or destructive may seem like a good idea at the time, but the legal problems that can result from you acting on impulse can do far more harm to your life than her affair did.
By carefully gathering evidence, you can determine if the signs of a cheating wife that you have noticed are actually indicators that she is cheating or whether there is another possible explanation. If you do find proof that your wife has been unfaithful, then you can take the time to figure out your next step.

Relationship Tip: The Ball is In Your Court
Click? Yes that was the sound of the TV being cut off by your significant other. She has something important to tell you. You told her you would listen but that was before halftime. Now she feels the only way to make you pay attention is to be a little radical in her approach.
You snatch the remote from her but it's too late. All you hear is the announcer say, "That was the most spectacular play I have seen in all my years of broadcasting." You feel like crying and yelling at the same time. Wow, she really blew it this time. Didn't she? The short answer is no. You fumbled the snap sometime around the second quarter.
Understand her turning the TV off has nothing to do with liking or disliking football but it has everything to do with communication.
There are many reasons why fifty percent of all marriages end in divorce but the one that seems to be common on everyone's top five lists is a lack of communication. In the sports world a lack of communication between the coach and their team is a formula for a disaster, yet many couples go about using this same blueprint in their relationship.
This applies not only to what happens to be on television. For instance when it comes to certain household chores; you thought she was going to take care of x while she just assumed you were going to handle y. But neither of you communicated so the result is z as in zero got accomplished. Now the frustration starts bubbling up. A few more of these disconnects and you will have a full blown situation on your hands.
Also be careful of too much silence. A lot of couples fool themselves into believing they are so in tune with each other they can be quiet for hours at a time. They can't and believing does not make it so. You must be ready to engage in dialogue at a moments notice and plan to do a whole lot of listening. It seems like our attention spans are getting shorter by the day due to being bombarded 24/7 with information from all corners.
Well guess what? You had no problem focusing on the game for three to four hours so do yourself and your partner a favor by giving them some of your attention. Besides they will be running that same spectacular play ad nauseum on the sports highlight reels so do not sweat it.
Keep the lines of communication open and be ready to give first priority to your relationship so that the next time she has something important to tell you, it will be you who turn the TV off first.

3 Quick Tips On Fireplace Glass Doors
Once installed, keeping glass doors clean is also important. This can be very difficult due to soot from the fire and sparks. Dirty fireplace doors do not compliment a room very nicely. Ammonia works very well on these types of doors. Regular glass cleaning products like Windex do not seem to work as well as plain ammonia.
Be sure to wear a face mask or make sure the room is ventilated properly when using ammonia. Eye protection is also important to wear. And of course, as you may already know, you cannot mix ammonia with any other cleaner because a toxic gas is created and you can breathe in very harmful toxins.
If you are looking for very good quality fireplace glass doors, you can be prepared to spend at least two hundred and fifty bucks. Before you go shopping for the doors, take proper measurements of your fireplace. A lot of big home supply store chains should carry a nice inventory of these fireplace doors. Another idea are the fireplace specialty stores. They can be difficult to locate, but it doesn't hurt to run a Google search on one and be sure to include your home town in the search.
Finally, the Internet is also a great place to find fireplace glass doors, especially if you are having a hard time finding them locally. There are many websites offering all types and sizes for every style of fireplace.
You can find more about Fireplace Glass Doors as well as much more information on everything to do with fireplaces at http://www.FireplacesA-Z.com

Events I went to on Labor Day Weekend
We arrived at the event on Labor Day, showed them our printed confirmations at will call and gained access with no problems whatsover. We arrived into the The Barnsdall Art Park, overlooking the Hollywood Hills which was an ideal, serene setting for a Jazz Festival. The grounds were scattered with interesting sculptures, peeple mingling to the sounds of jazz, a booth selling Magito fine wines, Izze Sparkling Fruit Juices and Angel City microbrewed beers and stalls offering culinary delights from an authentic European bistro, Metropol, situated in the heart of the Los Angeles Downtown Artists District. We knew we had stumbled upon on gem of an event. And all for half-price!
And musically, the Festival was of the highest standards featuring cutting-edge artists from all over the globe. Such players as my favorite, Wayne Horvitz formerly of the Bobby Previtt Trio. Formed in 1999, Wayne Horvitz's Sweeter Than the Day began simply as the acoustic incarnation of Zony Mash. The band played a series of weekly shows at Seattle's Baltic Room, and quickly became Wayne Horvitz's first piano-based ensemble in over 10 years. Despite the shared personnel, the ensemble is quite distinct from the electric Zony Mash and the repertoire is almost entirely different.
There was also Elliott Sharp, a familiar face in New York's downtown music scene for almost three decades, the uber-eclectic Sharp has released nearly a hundred albums, ranging from suites of solo-acoustic guitar improvisations to full-scale orchestral work. Sharp studied with master composers such as Benjamin Boretz, Roswell Rudd, Lejaren Hiller, and Morton Feldman while attending Cornell, Bard College, and the University of Buffalo, but he simultaneously indulged his fascination with physics and other sciences-which arguably affected his artistic aesthetic as much as his formal compositional studies. Sharp's "extreme science nerd" bent has led to everything from building his own effects pedals to extrapolating guitar tunings from the Fibonacci series of numbers to being an early-adopter of computer-based composition and effects processing.
Alan Pasqua Quartet, born in New Jersey, Alan began studying piano at the age of seven, playing both classical and jazz. He attended Indiana University, and received his Bachelors Degree in Jazz Studies from the New England Conservatory. His teachers at the time were Jaki Byard, Thad Jones, George Russell, David Baker and Gunther Schuller. While performing a concert at Carnegie Hall, Alan met the legendary drummer Tony Williams. Pasqua was asked to join "The New Tony Williams Lifetime" along with guitarist Allan Holdsworth.
Pasqua has also played and recorded with Joe Henderson, Joe Lovano, Gary Burton, James Moody, Gary Peacock, Gary Bartz, Eddie Daniels, Dave Weckl, John Patitucci, Reggie Workman, The Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Jazz Orchestra, Sam Rivers, Sheila Jordan, Joe Williams, Ivan Lins, Frank Foster, Alphonso Johnson, Stanley Clarke, Narada Michael Walden, Les McCann, Stan Kenton, and Don Ellis, among others.
Alan is also known for his dedication and contribution to jazz education. Since the year 2000, he has been affiliated with the Jazz Studies Department at The University of Southern California, Los Angeles. Starting in the Fall of 2008, Alan has been appointed to the rank of Associate Professor.
Other players such as The Arthur Blythe Quintet and Satoko Fujii Ma-Do delighted the musical senses with their performances using one of the Art Park's galleries as their backdrop. Their was also an outdoor stage featuring top notch cutting-edge Jazz and World Music artists such as Option 3, Ian Rapien and Kneebody, Nick Mancini Collective and the Robby Marshall Group to name a few. There was also Live Art Paitings to the left of the outdoor stage which entertained all the kids attending allowing parents to enjoy the Jazz.
It was an absolutely faboulous day out and we can only hope to continue to find such great deals on cool events around Los Angeles for the whole family to enjoy. If these sort of events were continually on offer at half-price, it would be very hard to keep the family indoors.
StubDog was created in Houston to promote local events with one goal in mind. Give people the opportunity to try something new and entice them to explore events locally for a fraction of the normal cost. StubDog offers event tickets in Houston, Dallas/Fort-Worth and Los Angeles and more. Events I went to on Labor Day Weekend.

Little Extras for Your Big Day
Wedding accessories are things that we often don't think about when we are creating our initial wedding budget. Most of us think of the church, the dress, and the flowers when we think of a wedding but there are some little details that simply add to the day and make it what it is. Some wedding accessories include little things such as jewelry for the bride and groom, shoes for the bride and groom, purses, hats, and items like this. These accessories may need to be purchased just for the bride and groom or they may need to be purchased for the whole wedding party.
In addition to the little accessories one cannot forget the attendants gifts. When you ask people to be in your wedding you usually do so because you are close to them and you know that they would be happy to stand beside you on your big day. These people, as part of the wedding party, also need to be thanked for their time and their concern as a part of your wedding party. Gifts do not have to be anything expensive, but you do need to think of them and give them a token of your appreciation. These gifts can include edible items, picture frames, jewelry boxes, engraved glasses and mugs, jewelry, or just about anything that you can think of. You can choose to have the gifts be themed or pick out something special for each member of the wedding party.
Wedding favors are also something that you cannot overlook. Favors are usually very simple gifts that are given to each person who comes to your wedding. You can keep this really simple if you want to, or you can make them more complex. Many people choose to give candy, plants, a picture of the bride and groom, seeds to plant, or something like this. This is just a little gift to thank the person for coming and it may also serve as a memento of your big day. Again, this can be themed or it can be something that the bride and groom just want to share with their friends and family members.

How to Choose the Right Baby Shower Décor
One of the easiest ways to do something nice is to get good favor boxes. These can be fairly simple or complex depending on what you want. You could just get a basic package. Several online venues offer bulk packaging for some simple boxes that are just boxes. It is possible to get something a bit nicer though. You could have them personally decorated with the date and time. If this sounds like too much, then you can find a spot in the middle through the decorative box options. I'm personally fond of the ones that look like little gift boxes. It is just a little elegant touch that you can add to the party.
If you are going to buy favor boxes, then you had better have good baby shower favors too. These are a little hard to pick out sometimes. The real problem is that you have so many choices. In the end, you just have to pick your favors based on your guests and their personal tastes. I personally find the novelty chocolates to be a good bang for your buck. You could also chose to offer a nice bracelet or key chain if you want to go above and beyond the usual.
Once the party favors are taken care of, you just have to worry about the party itself. If you plan to have a lot of people eating at any point, then you might want to consider using place cards. If you are going to use place cards, then you should spend the extra few dollars to get nice place card holders. It will keep your organizational efforts from looking tacky and give it a nice overall look. The right holders can make it seem more professional and fancy.
These are just some of the little items you can get for your baby shower. The devil is usually in the details when it comes to things like this. Just take the time and try to get the little things right. It will be worth it in the end.
Alec Baldwin Writes about Parental Alienation
Baldwin and Basinger seemed to be the ideal Hollywood couple when they tied the knot in 1993, and after the birth of their daughter, Ireland, in 1995, were soon elevated to "perfect glamorous family" status.
This was shattered with their surprising separation in 2000 and later their hostile divorce in 2002. Then began one of the most public and vicious custody battles on record, and Baldwin details his own pain and unhappiness as he battled every day, like so many other short-changed parents, for equal access to his daughter who was being systematically turned against him by her mother.
Parental Alienation Syndrome (PAS) is described by leading expert, Dr Richard Warshak in his seminal book, Divorce Poison, as a deliberate and concerted campaign by one parent to turn their kids against the other parent by disrespecting, bashing and brainwashing, in an effort to remove them from the picture.
Alec Baldwin writes passionately about his nightmarish experience of divorce poison that pushed him to the brink emotionally, professionally and financially. He points out that in addition to systematic alienation, non-custodial parents (often dads) are forced to reluctantly leave their children behind, because of the overwhelming bias of judges, lawyers and court-appointed therapists.
He cites a big reason for publishing the book is because, "There is.... enough injustice, inefficiency and corruption within the system to compel us as a society to closely examine what is being perpetrated on innocent men and women." Baldwin was also embarrassed by the media coverage of the angry, frustrated voice mail left for his daughter who never seemed to answer his prearranged phone calls.
The good news is that Baldwin reports that things are now good with his daughter, and will continue to improve, as long as her mother lets them alone.
This is a heartfelt, engrossing and very personal account of PAS and divorce poison, and is a helpful guide and very encouraging for the many divorced parents who are experiencing less public but just as devastating custody battles and spiteful ex-spouses. Co-parenting after separation and divorce should ideally be child-centered, with both parents nurturing healthy child-parental relationships, and putting aside their own conflict and need for revenge.
Pick up Alec Baldwin's book to learn firsthand about Parental Alienation, and refer to Dr Warshak's Divorce Poison for more insight into identifying the warning signs of parental alienation and sound advice on how to deal with it.
